MINNEAPOLIS CITY TOURNAMENT
Bee Xiong of Minneapolis South won the singles title with a 2-0 win over Chui Mai Thao of Edison. Xiong beat Lisa Thao of Henry in the semis 21-16, 21-18. While Chu Mai Thao beat South 2 22-20, 20-22, and 21-12.

The doubles side had upsets galore. The eventual winners were Henry's #2 team of Yer Yang/Choua Yang . They are sisters. They beat Roosevelt's #1 team in the semis in three games and then bumped off Edison's #1 team of Julie Lor/PaNhia Xiong in the finals 21-16, 18-21, 21-18. The Edison duo reached the finals with a win over the South #1 team of Karen Perault-Boughton/Jackie Heslop.

Not hearing when the event was taking place, I did not attend. My sources were quiet today.
