ILLINOIS STATE TOURNAMENT

Two Mid Suburban powers will meet in the quarterfinals. Kristina Prus, Buffalo Grove will face conference champion Lindsay Gibbel, Prospect in the quarterfinals. The story from the Daily Herald

Here is proof that volleyball players make for good badminton players. Emily Sawin, Lincoln-Way Central, is headed to College of Charleston to play volleyball, but she is in the quarterfinals in the state singles tournament with a 35-2 record. Her story is from the Chicago Sun-Times

Here are some teams that will be playing in the state Fremd sent five players as did Maine South. New Trier has a double team at state. Evanston sent Meredith Nelson. Buffalo Grove, Lincoln-Way and Lockport all are sending players to the big event. MINNESOTA NEWS
Burnsvillle split last week with two wins against St. Paul Highland Park (4-3) and Minneapolis Roosevelt (7-0). Megan Olinger at 4th singles took the key match against SPHP. The article is from the This Week paper.

CALIFORNIA NEWS
The CIF will be dropping badminton as an official sport due to the lack of schools fielding teams.
Mt. Eden had a strong showing in the Hayward Area Athletic League. While Carla Carvajal from Newark won the singles title from the Mission Valley Athletic League. Both stories are from Inside Bay.
